Race Recap: DINO Brown County 15K 2022

2022 was my 2nd year in a row for this race. It has become one of my favorites. It’s no fuss, decent climbs but still very runnable, well organized, and set amongst lovely trees. If you’re ever looking for a little trail race in the early summer, I highly recommend this one. You can see my recap from 2021 for more details about the vibe here.

This time, I knew what to expect: the climbs are legit, but I feared them and started really conservatively last time around. I wasn’t really gunning for a time, but I wanted to challenge myself a little.

Mile splits from 2022 on the left, 2021 on the right. I ran all but the last mile stronger this year:

I leap frogged with my friend Robyn a few times throughout the race. In the end, another woman latched onto us and I tried to push the pace through to the finish. I thought one of them might pass me in the final stretch, but they didn’t. I took about 4 minutes off my time from last year and got 1st place in my age group (+ overall 4th female). Robyn got first in her AG too – hurrah! We went back to Big Woods in Nashville for pizza afterwards. 🍕 And we found a great ice cream spot for dessert too!🍦

First place in my age group! (and 4th overall female)
